Kenny Graves
Kenny is excited to serve on the LEARNS Collaborative team and looks forward to helping individuals at all levels of the learning organization better leverage different types of data and evidence to drive more equitable, impactful, and learning-centered decision-making and professional development.
Dr. Kenny Graves has served in public and Independent schools for over 12 years as an award-winning English teacher, professional developer, educational technologist, and school leader. Dr. Graves currently serves as the Upper School (9-12) Assistant Principal for Academic Life and Director of Studies at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in the Bronx, NY, where he also teaches courses in the Ethics Department and serves as a Form Advisor. Prior to this role, Kenny served as the Upper School (9-12) Ethics and Technology Coordinator for six years at Fieldston and taught high school English in Richmond, VA. Kenny is also an adjunct professor and research associate at The Klingenstein Center for Independent School Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University and Boston College, where his courses and research focus on technoethics, applied research methods, evidence-based decision making, and diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in data-informed leadership.
Dr. Graves has served as a consultant to several educational non-profit organizations, including CSNYC, CSforAll, Norwegian Business School, The Data Science Institute, The Shipley School, The Center for Technology and School Change, and Math for America. He is a past board member at Code/Interactive and an expert advisor to IEEE's Society for the Social Implications of Technology.
Kenny earned his Ph.D. In Education Leadership from Columbia University in the City of New York. He also holds a M.Phil. in Education Leadership from Columbia University, a M.A. in Instructional Technology and Media from Teachers College, Columbia University, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in English, Secondary Education, and Latin American/Iberian Studies. Kenny is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
